Miri Hanai says nudity a possibility in the future

Posted on 2008-01-07 08:53:20

The most recent Flash magazine (#989) had a short, and very odd, pictorial of Hanai Miri. Delving into the artsy side of things, Miri did a four-page spread, seemingly wearing nothing but bopdy paint. Not my cup of tea, and gives me flashbacks to her disappointing book Aikakko Runrun.

The final page of the spread had a short bit of text, and if nothing else, Miri suffered for this one - it took about 13 hours total to apply all the paint to her body - 3 for the front, 10 for the back. Ouch. Anyways, she said that the paint covered everything so she didn't feel very nervous during the photo session, but also mentioned that she would be willing to pose nude if the right project came along.

Now, far be it for me to raise an eyebrow at that statement, but considering the Miri has already appeared essentially nude save for some pasties and a thong in various photoshoots and one DVD (Yarujan!), I don't really think that she has much left to hide at all, and hence not much to gain career-wise. But for the LCD, two small patches of skin and some hair (or perhaps lackthereof) make all the difference. Still, if that's route she choose, I can't say I won't be watching with great interest.

I don't think I'll be adding these photos to Miri's proper gallery as IMHO they aren't really to my taste. But if that's your thing, enjoy!

And finally, for those of you who have already dropped your pants at the thought of a nude Miri - at least wait until you go look for proper porn. Perverts.

Wither Miri Hanai?

If you're a big fan of Hanai Miri as I am, you've probably been wondering what the hell she's been doing for the past year or so. Her last DVD, 7 Milli Chō Kyonyū De GO!, was released in December of 2006, and since then, aside from a few minor appearance in magazines (no photo spreads, just mentions and old pictures in articles), a cameo in a seriously funny Nike commercial (see above) and some amateur photoshoot sessions, she's been pretty much off the radar. Plus, she's been working on a horror movie called Dekimono due for release in 2008 (see this entry in her blog if you can read Japanese), so she's at least been keeping somewhat busy.

Hontō Ni D-Cup, 2007-11

So, much to my delight, I spotted her on the cover of the latest Hontō Ni D-Cup (a Japanese softcore porn mag). Aside from a 5-page photo spread (which I plan to scan tomorrow), it also contained a DVD with a twenty-minute section focusing on Miri-chan. The year off from modelling has not hurt her at all... she's still very beautiful and actually seems to have gotten curvier. Not much more news than that, but here's hoping she has a more active idol career in 2008. Ganbarre, Miri-chan!

Gravure idol gamers

Posted on 2007-10-10 10:02:38

Kind of pointless info, but might be interesting for any gamers out there. While perusing Hanai Miri's blog, I came across a link to this site: beside games, a gaming site. The gimmick here is that they have gaming blogs (glogs, perhaps?) of various Japanese celebrities, including quite a few idols, including Miri and Takizawa Nonami.

Random facts from the site as of this writing:

  • Miri owns a DS and a PS2, but PS2 is broken at the moment. A Sony product having troubles? Surely you jest!
  • Nonami just has a DS.
  • Neither lady is currently playing anything. Nonami is going away on a photoshoot for a week. Miri is apparently dabbling with one of those English training games, Eigo Zuge.
  • The first game Nonami ever played was Super Mario. Miri's inaugeral game was Hi No Tori. The first is widely known, but I've never heard of the latter - maybe based on Tezuka's comic?

There a quite a few other notable idols on the site, including Aizawa Hitomi, (the seriously hot but sadly small chested) Kawamura Yukie, Matsumoto Sayuki, Aikawa Yuzuki, Yamamoto Ayano, Lyrian and Fukunaga China. Unsurprisingly, the DS is insanely popular with the girls. A few of them seem to be a little more into video games beyond the recent domination of Nintendo: I saw one idol with a Dreamcast, and as true gamers know, you're can't consider yourself hardcore unless you own a Dreamcast.

Miri amateur photoshoot in July.

For the maybe three or four of you who might actually find this kind of info useful, Hanai Miri has another amateur photoshoot in Tôkyô at Berry Waffle. Along with Miri, you can also snap some pics of Kasai Nana, who co-starred with Miri in 7 Milli Chô Kyonyû De GO! and Sana, who, as far as I know, has starred in nothing with Miri.

The event is on July 7th: check Berry Waffle homepage for prices if you have a hankerin' to take some pictures of Miri. Her part of the event starts at four.

Note: I do not condone the use of the work "hankerin'" but couldn't think of another word.

Miri changes her name?

Posted on 2007-05-31 09:36:03

Hanai Miri has done something a little odd: she's changed her name.

If you don't read any Japanese (as it's pronounced the same way) or don't obesses over little detail like I do, this won't make a lick of difference to you, but for reasons unknown to me yet, Miri has announced on her blog that she has changed the kanji for her first name from 美里 to 美理. Just purely from a marketing standpoint, this would seem to be a bad idea, but it's her life. I'm going to plow through her blog tomorrow and see if I can come up with a reason for the name change, but at the moment it's too late and my crappy kanji skills can't handle it at the moment.

Maybe she and Rio are planning to merge into some kind of super idol or something now that the kanji match: MIRIO!!! (美理緒) Okay. That was lame. Sorry.

Updated

Okay... I had a chance to read through her blog and on the advice of a fortune teller Miri decided to change her kanji. In someways, it's not that surprising considering how prevalent this kind of thing is in Japan.
