Môsô Biyori
Timing, as they say, is everything, and this is the critical problem with Oda Arisa’s new DVD Môsô Biyori – it’s just too damned long, or seems that way. Don’t misunderstand me, however – there are some wonderfully sexy images of Arisa here and she really shines in a few of the tracks, so there is a definite upside to the disc.
Main portion of the disc consists of a mere five glamour tracks, six if you want to count the ending credits, which runs for about forty minutes. However, there are also three ‘bonus’ gravure scenes which effectively extend the running time to an even hour – I’m not sure exactly why these are not part of the main feature as they are more glamour scenes and not really different material, but whatever. There are also two separate interview tracks as well as a moderately long behind-the-scenes track – if your understanding of Japanese is limited, these probably won’t do much for you, although you’ll have to take my word for it that’s she’s pretty darned charming - always happy, chatty and energetic – a pleasure to watch.
The main drawback to the Môsô Biyori is two-fold: first off, almost every track is very slow moving. Further, most of the scenes run about six to eight minutes in length which makes things seem to drag after a while. The camera work and direction are mostly on the competent, if not occasionally quite good, but things just go on for two long. If the editors had tightened up each scene by a few minutes, things would have been a lot better.
Once the opening rolls, the first scene has Arisa initially decked out as an OL, complete with glasses (personal note: drool). She walks into a hotel room and immediate begins disrobing to reveal some very sexy lingerie, complete with lacy push up bra and sheet stockings. She vamps for camera, slinks around the bed and generally teases the hell out of the viewer. The camera work is a little mundane here and the lighting is somewhat over exposed, but this is still a great scene, although a little long. The next glamour scene has Arisa in a wet, see-though white bikini (she’s wearing some pasties on her boobs, so don’t get too excited) and posing in and around a naturally lit indoor hottub. The same over exposure problem is here as well, which is a shame because she looks unbelievable here. A fairly standard gravure taken up a notch by Arisa’s natural sexiness.
The next couple tracks have a sort of exercise-theme happening. Arisa is in a gym working out on various pieces of exercise equipment wearing a… um… unusual set of work out clothes – it’s a little hard to describe, but you get some wonderful undercleavage. Suffice it to say, this is pretty much what you’d expect – the camera takes every opportunity to place itself in positions to maximize amount of Arisa’s womanly charms which are presented on screen as Arisa bends, stretches and gets all sweaty. The following scene starts Arisa out swimming around in a swimming pool in a (relatively) modest one piece. After her work out, she decideds to relax in a hot tub, complete with milky water. What occurs next is something which happen in every single video I’ve seen of hers: she gets completely topless, with her nipples only covered by some kind of thin substance which obscures the fine details, but, make no mistake, her nipples are unmistakably out on display for all to see. Once the hot tub is going and the water is opaque, she removes the rest of the bathing suit to be completely naked – Arisa always pushes the limits of near nudity and this scene is no exception. The main drawback is technical with the overexposed lighting – given how problematic this is throughout the disc, I hope the lighting crew got fired, or at least chewed out.
The next track has Arisa all tied up, literally. The bondage theme doesn’t really last that long as Arisa unties the rope binding her hands with her mouth and then proceeds to vamp for the rest of the scene on a chair while playing with the rope. She’s not given much to do here by the director, so this one just seems like phoning it in for everyone involved. The final scene (which also contains the credits) just has Arisa back in her business suit from the first track sipping some tea outdoors and wandering near a pier. This scene is not overtly sexy or erotic in anyway but I found it pleasant enough as a breather.
The three bonus tracks, quite good – probably some of the best scenes on the disc, but all run a little long. The first one has Arisa in very sexy monokini designed to show off her incredible boobs. Due to the washed out lighting (again!), it’s hard to tell where the scene takes place, but you’re not going to care anyways, Arisa starts out slinking around some poles like a stripper, squishing her boobs around and through them. Then she’s on the floor posing and vamping, with slow, sensual movements. Along with some top notch camera work, this is probably the sexiest scene on the disc. Following that is something a little more subdued: Arisa is lounging around the house in a huge sweater, some over sized socks and nothing else. Although, comparatively speaking, the amount of flesh her on display is minimal, there is a constant teasing going on as there are constantly teasing glimpses of her cleavage or ass to be found. Definitely not a lot of action here, but Arisa’s mannerisms and movements are pure femininity. The final bonus track is the continuation of track four where she was wearing the wet, see-though bikini. At first, Arisa oils herself up as she flirts with the camera, then the scene cuts to Arisa standing in the tub, as she slowly takes off her top, and a the end of the scene is standing topless facing the camera, with only her small hands covering her luscious breast. She gives the camera a very naughty look – she knows you want her to move those hand, but, of course, she never does, and then scene ends. Time for that cold shower.
As you’ve probably gathered, there are many positives to Môsô Biyori, not the least of which is Arisa herself – a sex goddess if there ever was one. However, the sheer length of the glamour scenes tends to drag under their own weight, and the consistently bad lighting can be headache inducing. This is a DVD you’d probably watch in small sessions as opposed to powering through everything at once. Despite the shortcomings, I enjoyed Môsô Biyori and am more than happy to spend some virtual time with Arisa for its duration.
