Rakuen ~Sexy Nonamin Ôdô Hen~
If I was paranoid, I'd say that the idol production companies have a conspiracy to bankrupt me: not only does Takizawa Nonami have twin releases this month, Matsugane Yôko has two not five days later. Then in September, Takeuchi Nozomi also has a double release. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times as the cliche goes. Nonami's twin releases are from the always dependable Idol-One label and both definitely show Nonami at her most beautiful and alluring. Although the discs are titled as different chapters, Tōbō ~Boku No Koibito No Nonamin Hen~ and Rakuen ~Sexy Nonamin Ōdō Hen~, there's no real continuity between them as far as I can see.
Unlike its sister disc, Rakuen has no underlying theme or storyline to hold it together – this is a pure, old school gravure idol video, which means lots of bikinis, beaches, bouncing and boobs. Regarding the bikinis, Nonami's top seems have shunk in the wash. A lot. Usually to emphasize an idol's bust, the tops are a size too small, the wardrobe staff seems to have thought that one size too small was not small enough... her tops are tiny. When you get a profile of Nonami's body, you can see how much the bikini straps are sagging, struggling to contain her tits. Regarding the beach, most of Rakuen takes place either on or near the beach. Regading the bouncing and the boobs... plenty of both on hand, which, given how gorgeous Nonami is, is more than enough to want to watch the entire thing over and over.
There are about 11 different glamour scenes contained on the disc, spanning 15 tracks and running slightly over an hour in total. The disc also contains the usual extras for an Idol-One release: a static profile page detailing Nonami's particulars, a short behind-the-scenes look at the DVD a set of eight static images of Nonami.
Once the requisite opening montage finishes, we find Nonami lying on a bed wearing a polka-dot nightie with some very impressive cleavage showing. She vamps a little, gets out of bed, goes to the one of the huge glass doors and removes the nightie to reveal an extremely abbreviated bra and pantie set. At one point, the camera is shooting from the side and it becomes very obvious exactly how small her top is.... The lighting is a little washed out here, but nothing which detracts from the scene as a whole. The part moves Nonami outdoors in some hot pants and a... uh... top. That's kind of stretching it actually... it's barely a piece of cloth wrapped around her chest. And speaking of stretching things, Nonami's boobs do a great job of nearly bursting the material. She goofs around on a grass, plays with a garden hose and at the end of the track removes her ridiculously small hot pants in a very cute way to reveal an even more ridiculously small pair of bikini bottoms.
Next up... frolicking at the beach. It looks like Nonami (clad in a small red bikini and cute pig tails) had a little too much sugar or something because she's almost always in motion here - dancing on the beach, splashing in the water, playing in the sand or just jumping around. Not that that's bad thing, mind you... fans of Nonami's spectacular breasts will have more than enough to keep track of in this scene. Although very enjoyable, the editors probably could have shaved off a minute or two due to the repetitive nature of the scene. Two water themed tracks follow that, both of which feature Nonami in the same white bikini. Standing in a large bathtub in a naturally lit room, Nonami is initially wearing a white, see through slip over her beachwear. As water from the shower sprays down, the thin material becomes wonderfully clingy. This track is fairly upbeat, with Nonami always smiling and moving energetically with the music. The following track sees the tub now filled, and Nonami lying the water and moving slowly around the tub in a much more sensuous manner. Some very nice shots of Nonami in both tracks, but the climax comes at the end of the second one with Nonami starting longingly at the camera while pressing body against a mirror beside the tub, the places a gentle kiss on her reflection. Twin Nonamis kissing. I feel funny just talking about it – very erotic imagery.
Next up, Nonami does a kind of clumsy workout routine. Quite a few strange choices were made with this scene: first off is the decision to have Nonami very obviously looking off camera for much of the scene. She's either watching herself on a monitor or taking very explicit instructions for the director. That had to be deliberate because Nonami has never had any problems with eye contact that I can remember. The second thing is, despite Nonami's fetching workout clothes (a very low-cut, boob-hugging, cleavage revealing top and hot pants), the scene doesn't really come across as sexy or alluring. Sure, there are some great shots of Nonami, but the camera work coupled with Nonami's unfocused screen presence makes something which seems like it should have been an outtake. Near the end of the scene, there is a short two minute more traditional glamour routine, but too little, too late. Next up has Nonami in the smallest bikini top yet. Although at the beginning of the scene, she is getting a shoulder massage, it never goes any farther than that, and the rest of the scene is solo. After rubbing some oil on herself, Nonami poses and slinks around atop a glass table. The camera takes full advantage of the the glass and is generally positioned underneath, providing some extremely nice imagery as Nonami lies on her stomach making her boobs squish enticingly against the glass.
The next track has a cosplay theme going on: dressed a purple outfit like an Arabian princess, Nonami brings out the sultry persona here and proceeds to vamp it up. She does a little belly dancing as well, but it seemed a little unnatural – I'm getting the distinct impression that Nonami isn't that good of a dancer. Despite that, the scene worked well overall, as Nonami shed her veils as time went on and given that her top was even smaller than the last scene... well let's just say that this one is definitely one of the highlights on the disc.
The remaining tracks are all fairly straight forward glamour offerings, but they're all very good. First off, Nonami is wearing a very loose top which is completely open at the front. This has to be one of the times when double-sided tape was used, because it seems that given how loose the material is, there should have been some kind of nip-slip. Fantastic scene – Nonami plays it sultry but with a little playfulness which is irresistible. Great camera work her as well, with a variety of shots and pans which leads to some of the best images on the disc. The next two tracks have Nonami in a backless, sling-type of beachwear. At first she is in a room with a few mirror columns. She plays a little game of hide-and-seek with the camera as she moves gracefully around the columns. Not only does Nonami look devastatingly beautiful, the mirrors provide a great aesthetic. This one is also one of the most boob-centric on the disc – lots of close ups on Nonami's huge chest as it jiggles and wobbles. She then heads out of room into the outdoor pool next to the room. This scene is a little more generic than the last: Nonami plays and swims around in the pool. Again, some great cleavage shots and a good scene, but nothing overly overly memorable.
The penultimate track has our goddess in an alley somewhere, wearing a skirt and a button down, short sleeve shirt which only has a single button done up. The skirt is promptly discarded to reveal the smallest panties I've ever seen her wear. I'll say this – she definitely shaves down there. A slow-moving track which builds very nicely – although she has shown a lot more flesh on other tracks, this one is just plain sexy. The closing track has Nonami in a dark room with a few candles in a large, water-filled tub which also contains a bunch of multi-coloured glow sticks. Although there's absolutely nothing wrong with the premise of the scene and Nonami, dressed in wet, body hugging lingerie, looks phenomenal as always, the dark lighting often made it difficult to get a good view of her. Still, if one looks as it as a “warm down” for the disc, it does its job as well as can be expected, and the focus here is more on a romantic feel rather than playful or sexy.
Although there are a few minor problems with the disc, this is another excellent release for Nonami – fun, sexy and playful, Rakuen is a traditional gravure idol video which does almost everything right. Although there has been a recent trend in idol DVD to push thing further and further into softcore porn territory, Nonami continues to prove that, often, the most compelling videos are those which feature a beautiful woman with genuine charisma in front on the camera rather than relying on giri giri shots to cover up for lack of screen presence.
