集大成 ~伝説1~
Shûtaisei ~Densetsu I~
Don't get me wrong: I'm thrilled that Matsugane Yôko hasn't retired from modelling. Not only that but she is looking really good… if those Sabra photos from a few months ago put you off, you've got nothing to worry about – these discs were both filmed back when she was still with Backup Promotion (her former talent agency). However, both Shûtaisei Densetsu I and II suffer from the same drawbacks… length and a serious sense of déjà vu if you've seen any of Yôko's past releases.
The first major gripe with both discs is the length of the scenes: with only six tracks a piece (not including a ‘making-of' segment for each disc), the scenes run a little long at roughly six to seven minutes each. It would have made more sense from a creative point of view to shorten the length of the scenes and combine the two discs into one cohesive package. As it is, things tend to drag a little. From a financial standpoint, I'm sure E-Net Frontier (the publisher) knows exactly what it's doing – with almost a year between new Yôko DVDs, her fans are hungry for anything Yôko and will snatch up both without a moments hesitation. I know I did.
The second problem is something that has plagued Yôko-chan throughout her career: the generic nature of the majority of her videos makes it difficult to tell one disc from another, let alone one scene from another on the same disc. With few exceptions, Yôko's wardrobe is almost exclusively bikini-based. Granted, Yôko has one of the most spectacular bodies on the face of the Earth, but sometimes I'd be nice to see her in some different clothes – look no further than an idol like Takeuchi Nozomi or Hanai Miri to show that sometime you can be more provocative when you cover up and build anticipation.
Still, Shûtaisei Densetsu I is a good DVD which does not disappoint – despite the producers' lack of imagination, Yôko always looks gorgeous oozes sexuality in each scene better than 99% of the AV idols out there. The disc starts slowly with Yôko in one of bright pink bikini which does a fully commendable job of squishing her huge boobs together and out the sides of her top. The scene basically consists of Yôko walking up and down a staircase, occasionally stopping to pose along the way. Given that description, these scene works much better than it has any right to – the camera work is imaginative and interesting and Yôko vamps it up convincingly, enticing the viewer to keep watching – very sensual movements and expressions. The second track mirrors the first a little too well though… Yôko's changed bikinis (into a slightly less revealing yellow number), but the scene is essentially the same: she wanders up and down a short outdoor corridor, occasionally stopping to pose and tease. The lighting was a little unflattering on occasion, but was still an enjoyable track.
Next up is the only non-bikini scene on the disc – Yôko-chan is in a frilly, two-tone negligee posing on a balcony with tropic plants in the background. With Yôko relatively covered here and very little motion, this one really seems to drag on. Following her stroll on the porch, Yôko returns in a purple bikini and is now teasing us in the bedroom. The slow pacing continues here, but she is at liberty to move around a little more than the pervious scene, although not much more. The camera does most of the work here, zooming and panning over her perfect body (of course, focusing mostly on her boobs). Although the images here are much more enticing than the pervious scene, this one is also a little too drawn out due to the slow pacing.
Yôko's still in the bedroom for the next scene, although a slightly different one with more pillows. She starts off wearing a tight shirt and some small, black panties. Her shirt doesn't remain on for long, and she pulls it up to reveal an eye poppingly small bra which really shows off those incredible breasts. Yôko is given a little more leeway as far as movement goes and, despite more slow pacing, really shows a lot of sensuality in both her body language as well as eye contact… the sexiest Yôko scene on the disc. The final scene on the disc has Yôko at the beach in white bikini with a lot of frills on it. Despite the absurdly small bikini, this was another track which would have benefited from some cutting – it drags a lot due to the minimal motion which is involved. Further, a lot of the scene has Yôko with her back to the camera, which seems like a waste. Still, Yôko manages to give some killer ‘come-hither' stares and the camera does give some nice overall view of our goddess, so it's not a total loss.
The final track on the disc is the ‘making of' scene. Pretty much standard stuff… Yôko chats away, we see some photo shoots and then the disc is over.
While definitely more subdued when compared to many of her earlier releases, Shûtaisei Densetsu I is sure to please Yôko fans who have been starved for new material. Yôko projects a very sexy image throughout and will leave your tongues hanging. However, just remember that there is nothing on the disk that separates it from any of her other releases – but I suppose that will fall on deaf ears to her admirers.
